Setup For A Low and Slow Cook
This is how much Lump I start with. For really long cooks, you can go to the top of the fire ring
Start with an inverted plate setter.
I usually put these copper fittings between the plate setter and the drip pan to keep the drippings from getting too hot and burning.
Drip Pan is next. I usually fill this with HOT water, beer, apple juice, etc.
Place the grid over the drip pan. I have used bolts to raise mine for other uses, but it can also sit directly on the legs of the plate setter.
Using the grid extender to add to the cooking space.
With an extra grid, you can go three levels high using the bolts to support the second grid.
